Weldclass PROMAX WB550 is a general-purpose high-temperature welding blanket made from glass fabric that has been heat-treated to remove organic binders, set the weave and reduce fraying and irritation. It withstands up to 550°C long-duration exposure and around 700°C short-duration exposure, giving off very minimal gas or fumes when burned.

The heavier weight fabric provides increased durability and insulating properties, suiting protection against sparks and spatter during grinding and welding, as well as heat treatment, stress relieving and heat retention applications where heated objects are wrapped to slow cooling.
